The Bexhill Hanoverian Study Group is independent of Bexhill Old Town Preservation Society but shares our passion for the history of this historic town.

The main purpose of the Bexhill Hanoverian Study Group is to research and highlight Bexhill's historic role from 1750 onwards so that the residents of Bexhill can become more aware of the important role Bexhill has played in the country's history. We concentrate on the Hanoverian years and the presence of the King's German Legion in the area from 1804 because this had such an impact on Bexhill. The local records bear witness to the effects on social history of the area.

The BHSG researches cover many aspects and queries are received from descendants throughout the world.

We are grateful to the group for supplying many of the images in our Gallery.
