As a Preservation Society our aims relating to the protection of features of historic and aesthetic importance and maintaining high standards of planning and architecture, are priorities. We try to achieve these by giving grants for repairs and refurbishment to properties within the Old Town Conservation Area and by lobbying the Planning Authority.

We also try to encourage a community spirit throughout Bexhill by supporting a range of activities and projects, which together can reach everyone. Over the past few years these have included n_from_manor_gardengrants to the Rowing Club, for new oars and Dry Start schools coaching equipment; to St. Richard's and Bexhill High Schools towards obtaining Technical Status; to St. John Ambulance towards a new vehicle; to Bexhill Carnival for its new float and annual parades; for events for families such as May Day and Old Town Christmas Spectaculars; providing a beacon for Trafalgar Day;

Sure Start fun days; support has been given to the Hanoverian Study Group, Bexhill Museum's Access Centre and to the Bexhill Achievers Awards and many others.

Often our grants are pledged as a significant contribution at the beginning of fund raising campaigns, thereby encouraging other people to give and the fund raisers themselves to see that their task is not impossible.

By joining the Society you can help us to enhance the quality of life in our town. Would you like to be an insider at an event, instead of just looking at what is going on?
