We were contacted by Rebecca Owen, Parks Development Officer of Rother, earlier this year to say they had some external funding funds to plant community orchards locally. They chose two sites – the top of De Moleyns Close and an area within Barrack Hall Park – and a mix of fruit, nut trees and wildflowers were planted duringMarch. Our thanks to Alison Deshayes and Edmund Bird who supported Rebecca’s request for volunteers – we look forward to seeing the orchards flourish.
