Our 60th Anniversary

This year is a special one for BOTPS as it marks our 60th anniversary.

We were founded in 1966 to fight a proposed high-rise residential development in Manor Gardens. While originally a local pressure group formed by concerned residents, BOTPS eventually achieved formal charitable status and later became a limited company as well as a charity.

BOTPS has made an enormous difference to Bexhill Old Town, including the brick pavements and lamp posts that are to be seen throughout; major repairs and renovations to the Manor Barn; and numerous grants to residents of the Old Town to help maintain their historic buildings.

BOTPS also owns and maintains the historic Jubilee Clock of 1887 above the Quakersmill building [once the Cave Austin warehouse] and has repaired and renovated the clock this year to mark this important anniversary.
